The overriding focus of Gold Coast Kwila is structural integrity, component quality and material balance well before the issue of aesthetics is even considered – if the product won’t give years of failsafe service then it will not be built or produced by the company. Combining all of these criteria as well as the requirements of suitable materials is a particularly difficult task which can narrow the variety of possible designs but even in these conditions Gold Coast Kwila have a pro-active and aggressive attitude to good design will ensure our product range continues to be wide and varied.

Without exception, Gold Coast Kwila employs the mortise and tenon joinery process throughout their highly crafted products. This is possible as a result of the company’s modern and extensive plant and machinery (some of which has been built specifically for our company) which allows very fine adjustments between furniture joints thus creating a very tight and extremely strong join. Together with a variety of other key materials such as durable timbers, stainless steel fastenings, water resistant glue, high quality fabrics, etc Gold Coast Kwila produces a product that will continue to provide ongoing enjoyment and pride for many, many years.

What’s holding it all together?

Gold Coast Kwila use only high grade stainless steel and corrosion resistant fasteners in the production of their high quality outdoor leisure furniture.

For general purpose usage where resistance to corrosion is required we only use A.S.I. (American Iron and Steel Institute) 304 grade stainless steel fasteners – these naturally include screws, nuts, bolts and washers. In other applications where no suitable ‘off the shelf’ fasteners where available we have secured special production and indent runs of suitable high quality fasteners to ensure all our products continue to meet our demands for uncompromised quality and durability without sacrificing style and design.

 

What about the fabrics?

At Gold Coast Kwila we spare no expense to ensure that we only use the best fabrics, slings, bindings etc in our furniture.

For this we chose from a range of very high quality PVC coated polyester yarns, woven polyolefins, packed stripes, jacquards, combo meshes and wicker weave all of which come in a variety of colours, designs and sizes. This material is a very high quality product and is so fade resistant that even over periods of many years there is most often no discernible difference from the original colour.

These fabrics have exceptional properties which include:

• UV resistant.
• Weldable and sew able.
• Resistant to abrasion.
• Colourfast
• Not affected by bleach.
• Fade resistant.
• Mould and mildew resistant.
• Tough and hard wearing.
• Limited stretch – a high degree of dimensional stability
• Does not hold heat or cold.
• Does not sweat.

All our fabrics, webs and slings enjoy a one year guarantee against failure.
